Official log, correction 2nd of Blossom, 801 In talking with Stephen and Blackhawk, I find that I misunderstood something that the otter said. Thank heaven for these fine companions, were I alone, I would have been carrion very quickly... The otter actually said that under no circumstances should we allow the women to seduce us, as we would be killed for the pleasure. He also said that (quoting Stephen directly here...) "The next day, I must ask to speak to the Guardian. They will refuse. I must show resolve and remain calm and ask a second time. Once again, they will refuse. We cannot use any threats, or get angry. Above all, we must not ask a 3rd time. To do so is a mortal offense as it implies that the person is a thief and/or a liar and we are entitled to see them. During this time, nobody in the Company can even mention the Guardian, for that would imply a 3rd request and doom us all. (Sounds like our best course of action would be to all remain quiet during this transaction. We will need to be extremely careful of asking for anything while with the Fian. Please, do not even mention the Guardian. I have no idea when they will begin counting.) After their second refusal, I must not accept any further hospitality. (Not sure if this applies for the whole group or not. anyone remember anything specific in this area?)If I am inside, I must go outside and sit down in the dust. If outside, I must not go back inside. I must not accept any food or water from them. I must, however, remain polite. By not availing myself of their hospitality, I show my resolve, without provocation. I put them in the position where they cannot perform their honour bound duty of providing assistance and leave them with the option of breaking their honour or allowing me to speak to the Guardian. If we are lucky, the Guardian will take notice of these events and come see what is happening. Upon meeting the Guardian, before any other words are spoken, I must speak a 3 sentence phrase. Then, I must tell her our story and ask for passage to the lands of the High Kings. She will not be able to take us there, but she can assist us. If she finds me (us?) lacking in any way, she will slay us." I hope this is clear enough to keep us alive. I think I will talk very little while we are on the island...
