Charter of the Company of the Winged Fox

Charter of the Company of the Winged Fox Drafted by Raven Kenda Fox for the records of the Adventurers Guild of Seagate, Duchy of Carzala, on the 1st day of Seedtime in the 2nd Millenium of the Great Western Kingdom.

The following is a brief statement describing the structure and guidelines of the Company of the Winged Fox.

The Company of the Winged Fox, here forward being referred to as “the Party” or “the Company”, was formed on Seedtimethe 1st in the Second Millenium. The Party consists of the following five members:

Stephan Fox
Raven Kenda Fox
McGyver Fox
Stevan “BlackHawk” Fox
Maxfield Jaden Fox

The Company was formed under the guidance of the Seagate Adventurers Guild (here forward being referred to as “the Guild”), for the purpose of exploring and adventuring, principally in the region known as the Isles. The goal of the Company is to obtain information about the Isles- the indigenous peoples, cultures, magics, and technologies, as well as cartographic information for the benefit of the Party and the Guild. In addition, treasures and valuables will also be obtained by the Party, a portion of which will be set aside for the Guild as outlined below.

The Seagate Adventurers Guild requires the following to be stated in the charter put forth by the Company of the Winged Fox which the Guild is sponsoring:

1) Designation of a Leader, and guidelines for selection of said Leader,
2) Designation of a Scribe and guidelines for the selection of said Scribe,
3) Designation of a Cartographer and guidelines for the selection of said Cartographer, and
4) Guidelines on the distribution of acquired goods. These will be clarified in the Articles below.

Articles

Designation of a Leader- The Leader shall be chosen by majority vote of the members of the Party. A vote will be held twice a year, on Beltane and Samhain. Should a Leader become incapacitated or killed, the Scribe will become Leader until the Leader is fit, or until the next election. The member to be voted at the creation of the Company was Stephan Fox.

Designation of a Scribe- The role of Scribe will be given to whichever Party member would like to have the role. In the case that there are more than one, the Leader will choose. In the case of there being no volunteers, the Leader will chose. The role of Scribe shall rotate on a weekly basis or when the current scribe is no longer willing.

Designation of Cartographer- The role of Cartographer will be given to whichever Party member possesses the greatest cartographic skill and/or whichever Party member would like to have the role. In the case that there are more than one, the Leader will choose. In the case of there being no volunteers, the Leader will chose.

Guidelines on the distribution of acquired goods-

Each member of the Party will have one share in the Company. In addition, a sixth share will be created that will cover the cost of Guild Tax and emergency Party expenditures.

Monies and gems- These will be divided equally among the six shares.

Treasures- These will be put aside into a Party holding to later be returned to owner for reward, sold, or bartered. The proceeds will be divided equally among the six shares. If a Party member desires a treasure for their own possession, the Party will first vote whether to “gift” the item, secondarily to sell the item to the Party member at an agreed upon price (agreed upon by all members of the Party). If there is no resolution with the vote, the item is put aside into Party holding to be dealt with as stated above.

Magic Items and Treasures of Adventuring Value- (Treasures of Adventuring Value are defined as items that can serve an individual in the Party or the Party as a whole in some way that is beneficial to the Company during it’s expedition.) These items are exclusive from the Guild taxation and dues, unless sold for monetary units, in which (a), above, would apply. These items will be considered part of the Party holding unless sold to a member. The Party may vote on which member should have the item in question for use during the expedition. In case of a tie, it will be voted on a second time. It there is still a tie, the Leader will cast a deciding vote. If a Party member desires an item for their own possession, the Party will first vote whether to “gift” the item, secondarily to sell the item to the Party member at an agreed upon price (agreed upon by all members of the Party). If there is no resolution to this vote, the item remains in the Party’s holdings but may be continued to be used for the Party’s benefit. Such a vote may be requested by a member on a particular item once per quarter.

Membership- The five original members are entitled to their shares as long as the Company of the Winged Fox is in existence. The acquisition of further members will require the dissolution of this Company and the formation of a new one, thus, cashing out shares to current members.

The Company of the Winged Fox shall be represented by a device bearing a “winged fox” in black on a silver background. Additional items may be added to this device at a later time.

We have hereby declared the formation of the Company of the Winged Fox, as well as it’s intentions and goals. With the blessings of the Gods and the Seagate Adventurers Guild we set forth.

Signed,

Stephan Fox
