Death and the High Cost of Living I don't know how often y'all make it back to this part of the site, but for those of you brave enough to wander back here, here's the latest little piece. Hopefully everybody picked up (back during character creation) that there's no way to raise a character from the dead in my campaign. Once you're dead, that's it. It wasn't always that way. Last campaign (a thousand years ago) there were still a few people around who could do it. Two thousand years ago (campaign before that) there were multiple ways to resurrect characters -- the biggest inconvenience being the possibility you might have to cough up some dough to the local temple. Likewise the campaign before that. You may be spotting the trend here. Anyhow, there's an implied Mission Statement (quest) here -- somebody needs to figure out how to do it again, so that this campaign (and future ones) won't have to buy character sheets in bulk. It's a hard problem. You really need this info now, when the party is young and everybody's hit points are low. On the other hand, it's not an easy thing to recover, even at high levels. And of course you don't have an active cleric presently, so it's not going to do you immediate good anyway. Trust me, though, when I say that at SOME point you are REALLY going to want that particular ace in the hole. So if you happen upon any clues to this puzzle, make good use of them!
