Structure -- Duration -- and Etc.

Hopefully you have the feeling that you are in fantasy novel (albeit a cheap one!) and you guys are the protagonists. That's the idea, anyway, As I mentioned the other day to some of the players, this is a story with 5 "Acts" plus a Prologue and and Epilogue.

The Prologue was called "Road to the Isles," and it ended when you set sail for Bliss. I've made no small secret that the Epilogue will have your triumphant return to Ardania... or at least your triumphant return through the bronze doors of the Seagate Guildhall.

In the meantime you are in the very beginning of the 1st Act. No idea how long it will take to complete... in fact, I'm trying to ignore time completely. I scheduled the complete story to take a little more than a year of real time to play out-- and I'm proud to say that in our traditional fashion we are taking a lot longer.

I was planning on pausing between Acts to give everyone a break and a chance to play something different -- but with so many long breaks cropping up in the game I'm rethinking that strategy.

After the Epilogue, the Isles will still be there -- and the Surviving Companions can come back any time to play as much or as little as they'd like.
